    What is Five-Element Acupuncture ?

Worsley Classical Five-Element Acupuncture® is rooted in ancient wisdom, thoroughly documented in a 3rd Century BC text the Huangdi Neijing - The Yellow Emperor’s Classic of Medicine. Professor J.R. Worsley, the renowned teacher of this ancient healing art, brought this system of acupuncture to the West in the 1950s. It is an effective and unique system of medicine that diagnoses and treats the root cause of disease. The ancients observed how the fundamental elements of creation, wood, fire, earth, metal and water, create life’s natural mysterious order. When these five elements, based on the seasons, manifest within us in a balanced and harmonious state, we experience health, well-being and the joy of being alive.

    Why choose Five-Element Acupuncture ?

Worsley Classical Five-Element Acupuncture ® elegantly restores our balance and harmony and returns us to the health and well-being that is our natural right. Treatment is tailored to each individual. It can be used preventively given its ability to resolve energetic imbalance, often before a disease is manifest. If you feel below par you or sense your energy is low, acupuncture is a great option to help you feel at your best again.

What happens during a treatment ?

The initial consultation includes discussion of your primary health concerns, medical and life history. Diagnosis includes pulse taking, assessment of your temperature regulation and blood pressure. The process of optimising treatment for you also accounts for the season and time of day, and allows problems to be resolved even before symptoms are presenting. Very fine, single-use, stainless steel needles are used to stimulate precisely located acupuncture points, just below the skin. A technique known as moxibustion, which involves using heat from burning the plant Artemisia vulgaris to warm the acupuncture points may be used in addition to the needles. For your first treatment please allow 1.5-2 hours, with subsequent treatments taking approximately 1 hour.

What is it good for ?

Whether your main complaint is physical, mental or emotional, acupuncture may be able to help you. It is suited to anyone who feels low energy including chronic and post viral fatigue, as well as stress and anxiety. Please don’t hesitate to call if you have any questions concerning treatment.

    What is the cost ?

The fee for the initial consultation and treatment is £65 and each subsequent treatment is £40.

During your first consultation we will plan for any ongoing treatment.

“We must strive to see people not only as they present themselves in illness, but more importantly as they would be in perfect health and balance, in full discovery of their true nature, unique in body, mind and spirit.”
