Nordic Walking, or Ski Walking is the summer training method of Cross Country Skiing. In 1997 Physiotherapists adapted this training method to suit everyone who likes walking and being active outdoors.
Nordic Walking exercises the whole body, not only the legs but it also strengthens the upper body - whilst relieving the impact on joints like ankle, knee, hip and spine.
Nordic Walking is suitable for everybody who can walk, the poles are used by athletes like fell runners or ultra-marathon runners or those who just like to improve their health and fitness on an easy walk.
Nordic Walking is also used as a rehabilitation exercise after hip or knee injury by taking the weight off the joints, by using the upper body more.
Nordic Walking is good for everybody - from the absolute fitness / exercise beginner to the trained athlete.
Nordic Walking is a truly holistic outdoor activity.
Move and breathe. Just be. Feel connected with yourself, with like-minded peers and take in nature in our beautiful countryside. Enjoy being outdoors, feel good about yourself when exercising in fresh air, be happy in nature as you walk with lovely people. Enjoy moving and feel your body, connect your mind, breathe. Nordic Walking has a positive effect on emotional and physical health. It can improve not only on your cardio-vascular system, your muscles and joints - it has also a positive impact on brain function ...
£7.50 in a group or £40 for a one-to-one session
Each Nordic Walking session is scheduled for an hour - sometimes it
can take a little longer ;)
