Antony offers Person Centred Therapy, also known as Humanistic Therapy.He also offers Psychodynamic Therapy.
Antony is a BACP Accredited Counsellor and Psychotherapist practicing mainly in Person Centred and Psychodynamic Therapies as well as incorporating relaxation and mindfulness techniques in his work.
Antony has over 12 years experience of working with adults and he has trained in bereavement therapy as well as in couple counselling and LGBT issues including sexual identity and sexual abuse. Antony is a warm, open, approachable person who believes passionately that talking therapy gives you a place to explore your problems and to begin to change whatever is troubling you by helping you gain clarity whilst developing potential coping strategies.
Antony understands that deciding to begin your counselling journey can be a difficult step. He will offer you a confidential and non-judgmental environment to explore current difficulties that might be troubling you working at your pace to explore your thoughts and feelings which may have been hidden for years. He offers short and long term therapy depending on your needs and choices.
Antony’s previous experience was in Social Work where he worked with Children and Adults. This grounding encouraged him to explore training as a Counsellor.
He joined Samaritans and Childline and his passion for assisting others led to his current status today as an experienced approachable, caring therapist. As well as a Childline Samaritans Voluntary befriender at St Gemma’s Hospice, Antony has been a voluntary counsellor at the charity Leeds counselling.
